Sniper is not who hits his target, a true sniper is one hits the target and no one can tell from where the target got hit. Today I’ll tell about an American Sniper who was equal to a whole army. Carlos Hathcock, who is also famous as the “White Feather”. He could move at a speed of 12inches/ hr only. He moved so slowly that even creatures around him could not sense his presence.

Carlos was born in the USA on 20 May 1942 and he grew up listening to the valours of US Marine. This was the reason he wanted to become a marine. Because of his exceptional talent, he won the national shooting championship and joined the Marine at the young age of 17. In 1979, USA president Johnson sent him to Vietnam as a military policeman.

He used to shoot his targets at sunrise and sunset only as he believed soldiers were not very active early morning and by the end of the day; they get tired. This way, he shot down many of the wanted soldiers. He always had a white feather on his helmet, after which he got the title of the famous White Feather. He became so well known that he even started teaching his skills to other soldiers. But his actual test was yet to come.

His orders were to kill the North Vietnamese army general, who always remained under tight security. Carlos lifted this heavy burden on his shoulders and set out for this mission alone, as doesn’t want to lose his comrades on this suicide mission. He came to know that the general lived in a highly shielded place that even a bird couldn’t approach, but Carlos was also well prepared.

A normal soldier would have hidden behind trees and moved further, but Carlos was different. He knew that even if he shot the general, then the soldiers would search him behind the trees, so he crawled to move ahead. Carlo covered his entire body with a grass cloak while only carrying water and shooting equipment. He was moving ahead with no sleep and food for four consecutive days. After he reached the general, wasting no time, he shot him dead, and as he had thought, soldiers started searching for the sniper behind the trees, but Carlos was lying on the ground. He returned the same way as he had reached there, crawling slowly under the enemy’s nose.

THE APACHE SNIPER (LAST TWO)

It’s said that Carlos killed 300 soldiers as a sniper. Some of his famous kills were famous snipers like Apache and Cobra sniper. After so many achievements, he retired and started a sniping center and started training others. Finally, on 22 February 1999, this brave sniper of America took his last breath, but his legacy still lives on.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME
